The first ninety days
A person opens an account and waits. Waits for the application to be reviewed, waits for the threshold to build up, waits for the first payout. Each of these waits is named by the platforms themselves — but in different documents, and a person learns the timing when the waiting has already begun.
This page gathers the waiting terms in one place so they can be counted in advance.
There is not a single computed figure here. Timings are given as the platform wrote them, with a link to the document. We do not convert «12 months» into days and do not compute averages: a number computed by us would look like a promise, and we do not make promises.
What is not here — shadowbans. That newcomers have their impressions cut back is written by everyone and by no platform. An unobservable claim is not in the catalogue.

While the application is under review
Between «applied» and «working» stands a period. It is sometimes longer than it seems, and it is worth knowing before you make plans.

While the threshold builds up
A monetisation threshold is almost nowhere absolute: it is measured by a window. «4000 hours» and «4000 hours over 12 months» are different conditions, and the second means that what you have accumulated grows stale.
