Publer

Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Publer is a scheduler of posts for social networks with programmatic access and its own limits set out in detail. The tool has an API allowing the management of accounts (documentation), and a machine-readable index of the documentation llms.txt, served in the format text/markdown. By what method the social network accounts are connected the overview section of the documentation does not describe.

From the index of the documentation there are confirmed competitor analysis, hashtag analysis, the re-use of posts and batch scheduling.

The interface language of the homepage is English. By the hreflang markup on the site of the tool there are five language versions: de, en, es, fr, it. On one visit the markup of the same homepage named six, with Albanian (sq) added.

Which platforms it works with

The most detailed list is given by the pricing page — thirteen platforms with the types of account indicated:

Facebook — profile, pages, locations, groups; Instagram — business and creator; TikTok — personal and business; X — accounts (paid plans only); Threads; LinkedIn — profiles and pages; Pinterest — personal and business; Mastodon; Google Business Profile; YouTube — channels; Telegram — groups and channels; Bluesky; WordPress — hosted and self-hosted.

The same list of thirteen positions is confirmed by the integrations section, the "For Publishing" tab, and the documentation. Separate pages in the integrations section were found for nine platforms: Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Pinterest, Telegram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube — some of them do not look like a product page, but they lie in the integrations section.

Support for Mastodon is a rarity: of the tools in this catalogue, only Buffer and Publer declared it.

Of the formats, on the pricing page there are named YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and LinkedIn PDF.

In the table of daily limits on publications Discord and Viber do not appear.

Pricing

There are four plans (the pricing page): Kostenlos 0, Professional 4.39, Business 8.78 EUR a month, Enterprise — on request. The minimum paid price is 3.51 EUR a month with annual payment (4.39 EUR month by month), the Professional plan. Next to the price in euros the tool itself publishes an equivalent — 4.00 USD a month; among the tools checked few do so.

The charging is per social account, with a volume discount: every tenth account free. The same logic applies to additional members of the team.

Tax is not included in the price, and the page says so outright: "MwSt. nicht enthalten". Here too a reservation about the source itself: the pricing page was served in the German language — it looks like a dependence of the presentation on the country.

The trial period is of different length on different plans: Professional — 7 days, Business — 14 days. A refund of the money is within 14 days. The payments are handled by PayPro Global and Paddle.

Access to the tool's API opens from the Business plan.

What is free

There is a free plan, and it is permanent, not a trial. By the pricing page it includes 1 user, 1 workspace, 3 social accounts, 10 scheduled posts per account, 25 drafts and a history of publications for 24 hours.

Two platforms behave in a special way on the free plan. X (Twitter) cannot be connected at all; the reason the tool names itself — the cost of the Enterprise API of the X platform itself. Pinterest is connected only for accounts from 100 followers or with a confirmed site; the reason, in the tool's words, is compliance with Pinterest's rules of automation.

Restrictions

The daily limits are set by the tool itself, and these are its own limits, not the limits of the platforms. The table from the section about limits counts over a rolling 24 hours; the values are given in the order "free / professional / business plan":

  • Facebook — 12 / 24 / 36 per profile;
  • Instagram — 15 / 20 / 25;
  • Threads — 150 / 200 / 250;
  • TikTok — 15 / 20 / 25;
  • X — 25 / 50 / 100;
  • LinkedIn — profile 10 / 12 / 14, page 12 / 18 / 24;
  • Pinterest — 12 / 24 / 36;
  • YouTube — 5 / 10 / 15;
  • Telegram — 5 / 10 / 15.

The limits differ strongly between platforms on one and the same plan: for Threads they are ten times greater than for YouTube.

Here too is the one place in this article where the sources disagree. The tool asserts that "most social networks do not limit the daily number of publications" (our translation of the Russian wording). This is true only in part: by the platforms' own documentation, three of the five have a daily limit of their own (Instagram — 100 publications per 24 hours, Threads — 250, YouTube — 100 uploads); X has no daily limit at all, it counts by fifteen-minute windows; for Pinterest the unit of counting depends on the level of access. The tool's own limits meanwhile do exist and are stricter than the platforms' where the platforms' exist: for Instagram 15–25 against 100.

The API limit: 100 requests per two-minute window, and the limit is counted on the account as a whole, not on the access key. On exceeding it a 429 response comes, and in the headers X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset the remainder and the time of the reset are visible.

How you earn with it

The affiliate programme is called the Publer Ambassador Program (the page of the programme). The addresses /affiliate, /affiliates, /affiliate-program, /partners and /referral redirect to the homepage — there is one working address, /ambassador.

The rates, by the help article: as a base 0.25 USD for every referred bona fide user, 50% of the first monthly payment and 20% of renewals. Further the rate grows by the turnover of the previous month: 0–500 USD — 50% and 20%, 500–1000 USD — 60% and 25%, over 1000 USD — 70% and 30%. On the landing page the same numbers in one line. The accrual from renewals is open-ended — "as long as they don't cancel".

The payout threshold is named: "the total unpaid commissions are at least $20" (the help page about payouts). There too are the terms of confirmation — 15 days for free users and 30 days for paying ones. They pay through PayPal or Stripe on the first day of every month, and to active participants — on the first and the fifteenth.

The programme is open to all who wish to promote the tool; the duties are to promote the capabilities, to share one's own link, to represent the brand accurately and to give feedback. No other restrictions are listed on the page.

What it will not do

On the free plan it will not connect X (Twitter) — not at all. And it will not connect Pinterest if the account has fewer than 100 followers and no confirmed site.

It will not give access to its API on plans below Business.

It will not publish more than its own daily limit: on the free plan that is 5 posts in YouTube and Telegram, 10 to a LinkedIn profile, 12 in Facebook and Pinterest, 15 in Instagram and TikTok, 25 in X per rolling day. The tool's limits are lower than the platforms' — it is into them that you risk running, not into the limits of the network itself.

It will not accept more than 100 API requests per two minutes — beyond that a 429 response, and the limit is shared across the whole account, not per key.

Discord and Viber do not appear in the table of daily limits.

The lifetime of the click tag is named neither on the landing page nor in the help section about the affiliate programme; there is no separate page of the programme's terms — the explanations are scattered through the help centre.

Sources diverge: daily posting limits are set by THE SERVICE ITSELF. Its general claim that «most social networks do not limit the daily number of posts» is only partly true: of the five platforms whose documentation we managed to read, three have their OWN daily limit (Instagram 100 posts per 24 hours, Threads 250, YouTube 100 uploads), X has no daily limit at all — it counts in fifteen-minute windows — and on Pinterest the unit of counting depends on the access level

S149 found three refutations, S150 added two confirmations. The service's own limits do exist and are STRICTER than the platforms' where the platforms have any: for Instagram 15–25 against 100
