概要

Recraft はベクターに重点を置いた画像の生成・編集ツールである。ツールの説明によれば、モデル «Recraft V4.1» でテキストから絵をつくり、編集可能なレイアウトと文字組をもつ «complex editable vector graphics» を組み立て、繰り返し使える独自のスタイル（«custom styles»）を保存し、写真を補正し、背景を消し、解像度を上げ、物体に画像を載せたモックアップをつくる。Recraft Studio という環境と API が明示されている。

編集できるベクターが、このツールを汎用の生成ツールから分けている。結果はレイアウトのように手を入れられる。ただし登録前に知るべき肝心な点は、機能の説明ではなく規約にある。成果物の権利は無料プランと有料プランとで根本的に異なる仕組みになっている。

対応プラットフォーム

投稿先のプラットフォームは明示されていない。明示されているのは API である。それは «programmatic access to image and vector generation, editing, background removal, inpainting, outpainting, batch jobs, and asynchronous processing» を与え、モデルは «V2, V3, V4 and V4.1» が使える。

SNS への書き出しは明示されていない。データは部分的である。明示されているのは組み込みの手段であってプラットフォームではない。«公開する» という既成のボタンはない。

料金

料金は外からは見えない。これは言いそこないではない。料金ページには «Pay monthly / Pay annually (save 20%)» の切り替えと «Plans / API» の区分、そしてプラン名 Free、Basic、Pro、チーム向けの Teams がある。金額そのものはページの本文にない。スクリプトが差し込んでおり、リクエストでは読み取れない。

したがって Recraft の料金に関するデータは一つもない。分かるのは 4 つのプラン名と、年払いによる 20 パーセントの割引だけであり、何を基準に計算するのかはページに示されていない。

無料でできること

Free プランは明示されており、試用版ではない。ただしその対価はお金ではない。

権利。 規約によれば、ここでつくられたものは «Free Tier Assets» であり、それらは «are owned by Recraft and may not be sold, licensed or transferred»、そして «no commercial use of Free Tier Assets is permitted» である。詳細は権利の節にある。

公開性。 料金ページはさらに、そうした画像が «are publicly visible in the community gallery» と述べる。共通のギャラリーで誰にでも見える。

分量。 マークアップには «3 per day on Free» という上限が見える。 1 日 3 件で、画像のアップロードに関わる。

データは部分的である。数量の値はスクリプトが差し込んでいる。

制限

上限の単位はクレジットであり、ページはその仕組みを数字ではなく言葉で説明している。プランのクレジットは «reset at the start of each billing cycle — unused credits don't roll over»。追加購入したものは違う振る舞いをする。«Top-up credits are purchased separately, never expire, and are used automatically once your monthly credits run out»。ただし «Top-ups are only available to users on Basic and Pro plans»。

操作あたりの費用は変動する。«Credit costs vary depending on the type of action and the model used»。プランで何枚の絵がつくれるかを前もって計算することはできない。クレジットの数量はマークアップに出力されておらず、データが部分的である理由は料金と同じである。

一方、表示については多くが述べられている。規約には «Transparency and Marking of AI-Generated Content» という節がある。ツールは «embed machine-readable metadata, watermarks, or other provenance information into Assets» する権利をもち、利用者は «not remove, obscure, disable, or alter any machine-readable metadata, watermarks» ことを約束する。 C2PA という略称は使われていないが、述べられている内容は意味の上でその規格に似ている。

成果物の権利

規約はプランを分けており、その差はこれまで見た中で最も鋭い。

無料。 ライセンスは «for your personal use» として与えられ、三つの制限が続く。商用利用はなく、«Free Tier Assets are owned by Recraft and may not be sold, licensed or transferred»、さらに «may not be used to train artificial intelligence models»。成果物を所有するのはツールである。

有料。 «You own all Assets you create with the Services and Recraft hereby assigns to you all copyright rights it may have in the Assets»、利用は «for business or personal use»。所有は直接であり、ツールは自らがもちうる著作権を利用者に譲る。

双方に共通の但し書きがある。«Assets may not be used to train artificial intelligence models» — 成果物でモデルを学習させることは、どのプランでも認められない。

実務上の結論。無料プランはショーウィンドウであって仕事の道具ではない。支払い前につくったものはツールの所有物のままであり、それを有料の仕事へ持ち越すことを規約は認めていない。

学習に使われるか

既定で学習に使われ、そのことは明言されている。オプトアウトの説明も併せて書かれている。

規約。«Recraft may use your Inputs you provide and the Assets produced by the Services to train, fine-tune, and otherwise improve Recraft's artificial intelligence models… This training use is enabled by default, but you may opt out at any time by adjusting your preferences in your account profile settings»。

プライバシーポリシーは他社のモデルについて付け加える。«We shall not use and shall not permit our third-party AI service providers… to train… using your AI Input or AI Output… unless you have affirmatively authorized»。API については但し書きが別に置かれ、より強い。«Recraft will not use any Assets created using the API Services for training purposes»。

まとめ。自社モデルは、プロフィールでこれを切るまで利用者の素材で学習する。他社モデルは利用者の同意があるときだけ。API 経由では学習しない。

収益化

つくったものを売る権利はプランによって異なり、その違いは直接的である。無料プランについて規約はこう述べる。 «no commercial use of Free Tier Assets is permitted»、同じ場所に «Free Tier Assets are owned by Recraft and may not be sold, licensed or transferred»。無料プランの絵は売ることも、渡すことも、ライセンスすることもできず、それはツールに属する。

有料プランについては逆のことが述べられている。«You own all Assets you create with the Services and Recraft hereby assigns to you all copyright rights it may have in the Assets»、利用は «for business or personal use»。所有は直接であり、商用の仕事はその名で呼ばれている。

無料プランでつくったものを有料の仕事へ持ち越すことを規約は認めていない。区分は、いま利用者がどのプランにいるかではなく、その画像がどのプランでつくられたかによって引かれている。

一つの禁止が両方のプランの上に働く。«Assets may not be used to train artificial intelligence models»。絵を売ること自体を規約は妨げないが、モデルの学習素材として売ることは禁じている。

できないこと

仕事のために無料で使うことはできない。無料プランの成果物はツールに属し、商用利用は明確に禁じられ、画像は共通のギャラリーで誰にでも見える。

料金を前もって示すこともない。値はスクリプトが差し込んでいる。プランから何枚の絵が出るかを計算することもできない。操作あたりの費用が変動するからである。先月のクレジットは繰り越されず、追加購入は Basic と Pro でしか認められない。

SNS へ自分で投稿することもない。明示されているのは API だけである。

その成果物でモデルを学習させることも認めない。禁止はすべてのプランに及ぶ。組み込まれた出所の表示を外したり隠したりすることもできない。

Terms of Service の «Rules and Conduct» の節：次のような行為が禁止されている。(i) 法令に違反すること、«including without limitation any laws, rules or regulations relating to transparency and marking of AI-generated content»。(ii) 他人の知的財産権、«any right or privacy or right of publicity» を侵害すること。(iii) «threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another's privacy, tortious, obscene, offensive, furthering of self-harm, or profane» に当たること。(iv) 児童搾取の素材を作ること。(v) «generates or disseminates verifiably false information with the purpose of harming others»。(vi) «impersonates or attempts to impersonate others»。(vii) «generates or disseminates personally identifying or identifiable information»。(viii) テロ組織への支援を意味すること。(ix) 保護される属性に基づく暴力を正当化または助長すること。実在の人物の画像は直接には禁止されていないが、他人になりすますことと、肖像の権利およびプライバシーを侵害することは禁止されている。政治と医療上の助言について規約は沈黙している

Recraft に独立した Acceptable Use Policy はない。加えて ToS は、いかなる Assets も他社の AI モデルの学習に用いることを禁じている

法的事項

規約はプランを分けている。無料：«Assets generated by Free Tier users are Free Tier Assets»、ライセンスは «for your personal use» で、«(i) no commercial use of Free Tier Assets is permitted; (ii) Free Tier Assets are owned by Recraft and may not be sold, licensed or transferred; and (iii) Free Tier Assets may not be used to train artificial intelligence models» の制限が付く。有料：«You own all Assets you create with the Services and Recraft hereby assigns to you all copyright rights it may have in the Assets»、用途は «for business or personal use»、ただし «Assets may not be used to train artificial intelligence models» という但し書きが付く。
