概要
Amazon Associates は Amazon のアフィリエイトプログラムである。管理画面と 説明は affiliate-program.amazon.com にあり、ページのタイトルは «Amazon.com Associates Central»。プログラム 自体もそこで説明されており、別途のマーケティングサイトは持たない。
仕組みは商品アフィリエイトとして典型的である。商品への専用リンクを置き、 読者がそこから購入し、対象となる購入額の一定割合が付与される。ここには «連携» という意味で解説すべきものはない。これは接続するアカウントを持つ ツールではなく、自分に合うか合わないかという条件そのものだからである。 そのため、この詳細解説は条件を軸に構成している。

受け入れの対象
プログラムのトップページの文言は こうである。«Bloggers, publishers and content creators with a qualifying website or mobile app can participate»。ここで鍵となるのは «qualifying» という語で、要件を満たすサイトまたはモバイルアプリを持って いる必要がある。
運用規約は参加者自身についての要件を 2 つ加えている。契約締結能力 （«you are lawfully able to enter into contracts»）と、米国の制裁対象で ないことである。
読んだページに数値要件は記載がない。 フォロワーの下限も、参加後最初の 数か月での販売件数も、トップページにも規約にも参加要件のページにも見つけら れなかった。これはそうした要件が存在しないという意味ではなく、公開ページ上 では明示されていないという意味にすぎない。
これで得られる収益
料率は 1 つの共通の数字ではなく、商品カテゴリーによって決まる。 プログラムはこう述べる。«Earn up to 10% in associate commissions from qualifying purchases and programs»。そしてすぐに «Rates differ based on product category» と補足している。商品別の料率表 （/help/operating/schedule）は Amazon アカウントへのログインに転送され、 カテゴリー別の割合は読み取れなかった。
ここから実務上の結論が出る。«最大 10 %» は上限であって、自分の料率では ない。 自分のカテゴリーの表を見るまでは、収入を見積もる材料がない。ここに 何らかの割合を当てはめることはしない。

これでできないこと
自分のカテゴリーの料率を事前には示さない。 商品別料率の表は Amazon アカウントにログインした後にしか開かず、公開ページにあるのは «最大 10 %» という上限だけである。
遷移が購入に変わるのを長くは待たない。 24 時間でタグは失効する。翌週になって から商品を買いに戻ってきた読者は、あなたの成果にはならない。
支払いは速くない。 月末からおよそ 60 日というのは遅延ではなく、告知 どおりの期間である。
