Mubert

Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Mubert generates royalty-free music. The main product is Mubert Render: a track is set by genre, mood, tempo (BPM), theme and instruments, the modes being track, jingle, loop and mix, plus Quick Remix and regeneration of individual stems. Alongside it are declared Text to Music and Image to Music, the Mubert API, Mubert for Streamers with endless streams, Mubert Fuse and Mubert Cast, and tools for checking a track against copyright claims. The list is from the licence page.

Input languages are not described in the sources: the service makes instrumental and background music, there is no speech synthesis in what was read, and no list of prompt languages is given. The site switches between seven languages, but that is the interface language, not the language of synthesis.

Which platforms it works with

A publish button inside the interface is not described on the pages read. What is described are permitted scenarios: music in video, podcasts, apps and games, posting content containing the tracks on video streaming services and social networks, and sublicensing.

Connection points: the Mubert API, Mubert for Streamers, Mubert Fuse, Mubert Cast, the Mubert Play apps for iOS and Android, and checking tools for YouTube, Twitch, Instagram Reels and TikTok.

Pricing

Prices in dollars. On the pricing page the sums are inserted by script, so the figures are taken from the plan table on the licence page.

Creator — 14 dollars a month: 500 tracks, length up to 25 minutes, lossless quality, unlimited downloads.

Pro (marked as Commercial) — 39 dollars a month.

Business (Apps & Agency) — 199 dollars a month, 1000 tracks.

With annual payment a discount of up to 25 per cent is declared; there is a Custom Plan and API rates on request. The minimum paid step is 14 dollars a month. Refunds are not provided for: "Purchases are non-refundable due to instant digital access".

What is free

The free plan is called Free, and in the help pages Ambassador Plan. It costs 0 dollars and gives 25 tracks a month, limited length, MP3 quality and 5 downloads a month.

Commercial use is not part of it, and this is stated directly: "You can use Mubert music on the Ambassador Plan for free in your personal projects without ad spend or monetization. However, it is obligatory to credit copyright to Mubert, wherever music is used - please add the link to Mubert Render and a #mubert hashtag". And separately: "No, unfortunately, Ambassador Plan can be used only for personal projects".

Restrictions

The generation limit is named in the help pages verbatim: "The free Ambassador one allows to generate 25 tracks, while Creator & Pro up to 500 tracks, Business up to 1000". The same figures stand in the plan table of the licence page.

On the free plan there are additionally 5 downloads a month and a limited track length; on Creator the length goes up to 25 minutes and downloads are unlimited. Carrying unspent generations over is not described in what was read.

Rights to the output

The rights stay with the service. The help pages verbatim: "All the copyright is owned by Mubert Inc. We license tracks for different use cases"; the licence page: "Mubert owns all the rights to the tracks generated. Our Sync License allows you to use music in videos, podcasts, apps and games". The scope of the licence differs by plan.

Ambassador (free) — personal projects only, without ad spend and without monetization, with mandatory attribution.

Creator — personal content, including promoted and paid posts.

Pro — the minimum for commercial content and monetization: "in order to use Mubert music for commercial content and/or monetize posts - a Pro Plan is required".

Business — apps and agency work.

On every plan one thing is forbidden: registering tracks in Content ID systems, releasing them yourself on streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music) and on music stock libraries (Epidemic Sound, Artlist, Jamendo). After a subscription is cancelled the tracks may not be put into new projects, but existing publications stay up and may go on being monetized.

Do they train on your data

There is no answer. The terms of use and the privacy policy were read: statements about training models on user prompts or uploaded content are not in them. The policy lists the data collected but does not touch the subject of training.

The licence page carries the phrases "Trained on proprietary dataset" and "Ethically Trained, 100% Legit" — those concern the service's own training set, not your data. An opt-out mechanism is likewise not described: since the training on user data is not declared at all, neither is opting out of it.

How you earn with it

Commercial use is permitted, but not on every plan. On Ambassador monetization is forbidden, Creator covers personal content including promoted and paid posts, and for commercial content and monetization a Pro plan at minimum is required.

There is also the other side: selling the track itself is not allowed — Content ID is closed off, releasing on streaming and stock libraries is forbidden.

What it will not do

Voice it does not deal with. Voice cloning, uploading voice samples and speech synthesis are not described on the licence, pricing or help pages, nor in the terms. So there is no requirement of consent from the person whose voice is used, no ban on the voice of a public figure, and no description of any verification.

A thematic list of forbidden content is likewise absent: the documents name no subject bans. The service's restrictions concern distribution of the result, not its content.

Release a track as a music release it will not allow: Content ID, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, Epidemic Sound, Artlist and Jamendo are closed off. In the site footer stands the general line: "Public reproduction, recording, distribution of this music is prohibited" outside the licence granted.

Let you earn on the free plan it will not, and drop the attribution there it will not either: the link to Mubert Render and the #mubert hashtag are obligatory wherever the music sounds.

Leave a watermark in the downloaded file it does not promise, the other way round: "Mubert watermark is added to prevent fraudulent activity. The watermark will be deleted once you download the track to your device". Requirements to mark the result as AI-made the service does not put forward. And refund you it cannot: purchases are declared non-refundable.

Restrictions

WHOSE VOICE: THERE ARE NO RULES ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE'S VOICE IN WHAT WAS READ. Mubert generates music; voice cloning, uploading voice samples and speech synthesis are not described on the licence, pricing or FAQ pages or in the Terms of Use, so there is neither a requirement for consent from the person whose voice is used, nor a ban on the voice of a public figure, nor a description of any check. The service's restrictions concern distribution of the result: it is forbidden to register tracks in Content ID systems, to release them on streaming services and music stock libraries, to resell and to distribute them; the site footer reads «Public reproduction, recording, distribution of this music is prohibited» outside the licence granted. THERE IS NO list of forbidden content topics (violence, hatred and the like) in what was read

The absence of voice rules is recorded from three pages that were read: https://mubert.com/render/license , https://mubert.com/render/faq and https://mubert.com/docs/tou

THE RIGHTS STAY WITH THE SERVICE, AND THE SCOPE OF THE LICENCE DIFFERS SHARPLY BY PLAN. The help centre verbatim: «All the copyright is owned by Mubert Inc. We license tracks for different use cases». The licence page: «Mubert owns all the rights to the tracks generated. Our Sync License allows you to use music in videos, podcasts, apps and games». The breakdown: the free Ambassador plan — personal projects only, with no ad spend and no monetisation, with mandatory attribution (a link to Mubert Render and the hashtag #mubert); Creator — personal content, including promoted and paid posts; for commercial content and monetisation at least Pro is required («in order to use Mubert music for commercial content and/or monetize posts - a Pro Plan is required», verbatim); Business — apps and agency work. FORBIDDEN ON ALL PLANS: registering tracks in Content ID systems, releasing them yourself on streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music) and on music stock libraries (Epidemic Sound, Artlist, Jamendo). After a subscription is cancelled the tracks may not be placed in new projects, but existing publications remain and may continue to be monetised

The wording about ownership and the Sync License and the ban on distribution and Content ID come from https://mubert.com/render/license

There is a watermark, but only until download. Verbatim: «Mubert watermark is added to prevent fraudulent activity. The watermark will be deleted once you download the track to your device» — so no mark remains in the downloaded file. There is no requirement to label the result as AI-made. The difference between plans is of another kind: on the free Ambassador plan a textual attribution is mandatory instead of a mark — a link to Mubert Render and the hashtag #mubert, while on paid plans no attribution is required

The obligatory attribution on the free plan is confirmed by the answer about the limits of free use on the same page
