Mookh

Platform · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Mookh is a Kenyan platform for selling tickets and goods that calls itself the one “making commerce social”: that is exactly how its home page is titled — “MOOKH: Making Commerce Social”. Behind that phrasing stands the chain “event organizer or seller — a link shared in messengers and social networks — payment — an electronic ticket”.

The operator is named in the structured markup of the home page: MOOKH AFRICA LTD, founded in 2015, founder Erick Thimba, address — Lavington, Nairobi; the contact email and support telephone number are given in the same place, and the service area is named as Kenya (the Organization markup on mookh.com). The company gives the same details as the developer on Google Play: MOOKH AFRICA LIMITED, Mbabane Road, Lavington, 00200 Nairobi, Kenya.

The site mookh.com is assembled by a script in the browser: without one, the pages return only a title and a message about the need to enable JavaScript.

Who's here

The only open quantitative data are app installs on Google Play: the MOOKH Entry+ ticket scanner shows “1K+ downloads”, and the corporate scanner FastPass by MOOKH “100+ downloads”. This is an app store counter, not a measurement of the platform's audience: the scanner is used by staff at the entrance, not by attendees.

The geography the company names itself is Kenya: that is what is given as the service area in the markup of the home page, and the developer's address on Google Play is Nairobi.

The language is English: the site pages and app descriptions are in English.

Getting started

Registration for an organizer and a seller takes place on the site itself. What is visible from the outside are the contacts for getting started: the support address support@mookh.africa is given in the app listing on Google Play, and the general address hello@mookh.africa in the markup of the home page.

What you can publish

The main object is an event with tickets of different categories. Indirect confirmation of how a ticket is built comes from the scanner's description: a ticket can be checked by QR code, ticket number or order number, that is, every ticket has a graphical code, a text identifier and a link to an order.

How to grow

The platform's own positioning is social distribution: the slogan “Making Commerce Social” on the home page points to selling through shared links rather than through an internal catalogue with search. Neither an ad manager nor paid promotion of events is declared on the open pages.

What the platform offers in addition is a service, not an algorithm. The scanner's description says plainly: “we not only give you tools but also provide professional entrance management services”; if you need trained staff for checking tickets, access control and organizing the flow at the entrance, the company invites you to get in touch.

Path to monetization

The platform does not pay authors: this is a selling tool, not a medium. An organizer earns from tickets, a seller from goods.

The platform does not name the size of its commission on the open pages: neither a percentage, nor a fixed fee, nor payout timings for an organizer.

Tools and automation

The platform does have an official programmatic interface. The domain api.mookh.com serves a portal titled “Mookh 2.0 APIs”, with sections “API Documentation” and “API Playground” and a link to the release notes for Mookh 2.5. However, the same place says: “you are not signed in, and only authorized users have access to the site”. The documentation address api.mookh.com/docs/ redirects to a Django REST framework sign-in form.

The standard tools are two mobile apps for organizers. The platform describes MOOKH Entry+ like this: fast scanning, checking by QR code, ticket number or order number, real-time attendance tracking and an offline mode with subsequent data synchronization; the app has been released for iOS too — MOOKH Entry+ in the App Store, developer MOOKH AFRICA LIMITED. The company describes the second app in a single phrase: a corporate app for scanning at events with a high flow of visitors; its listing was updated on 22 July 2026.

Limits and rules

The terms of service, the refund policy and the conditions for organizers on mookh.com are served by the same script as the rest of the site.

A formal restriction concerns programmatic access: it is closed to unauthorized users, which the portal api.mookh.com states directly.

The age label of the scanner app in the App Store is 17+; on Google Play the same apps are marked as suitable for all ages (the MOOKH Entry+ listing).

Who it's for

It suits event organizers in Kenya: concerts, festivals, conferences and private events — that is exactly the range the platform lists in the description of its scanner. It is useful to those whose sales run through sending a link in messengers rather than through their own site with a catalogue.

It does not suit authors and media projects: there are no payouts for content. Nor will it suit those planning integration with external systems before signing a contract: the API documentation is closed, and its composition cannot be assessed in advance.
