Livemaster

Platform · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Livemaster (Yarmarka Masterov) is a Russian marketplace for handmade work: makers' pieces, vintage, designer items and craft materials. A seller's storefront here is called a shop or a workshop, and alongside the goods lives an editorial part — a magazine and master classes.

The app's operator is listed in the app stores as Livemaster OOO. The platform's own description comes from the same place: “Livemaster is Russia's largest handmade marketplace, presenting the most varied goods from local producers in Russia and the CIS”. This is the company's claim about itself, not an independent measurement of the market.

An important peculiarity of the platform: the site's pages, including the seller help pages, are closed off by a browser check from the ServicePipe service — the server returns a short skeleton with a js-challenge-loader script instead of text; this, for instance, is how the address of the official rules behaves, livemaster.ru/help/pravilauk. What the platform serves to the outside are machine-readable files and the listings of its apps.

Who's here

The platform publishes its own numbers in the app description, in the "Livemaster.ru in figures" block: 3 million handmade items, 20 million reviews, 8.5 million users a month and 2.6 million followers on social networks. Exactly the same four numbers are given in the Google Play description. The platform gives no measurement date in either listing, so they cannot be treated as "current". The size of the vintage section is named separately: more than 200 thousand items.

An outside measurement of the app comes from Apple: 9.4 thousand ratings at an average score of 4.2, an age rating of 16+. Google has its own: 4.1 across 40.8 thousand reviews, an age restriction of 18+, last updated 20 July 2026. The divergence in age ratings is a difference between the stores' methodologies, not a statement by the platform.

Languages. The platform's machine-readable index names ru-RU as the primary language and en as the additional one; in the App Store the app is listed as Russian and English.

Getting started

The seller registration pages — /landings/how-to-sell, /help/section/selling and /help/section/shop — are closed off by the same protection. Indirectly it is known that a shop is set up from inside the app or the site, with no separate application: the app description promises the user that they can “create their own shop, add and edit goods, track statistics and buy advertising”. That is, the storefront, the statistics and promotion are part of the ordinary personal dashboard.

The platform itself points to where the rules live: its machine-reading file lists the sections it treats as the source of truth — /help, /help/pravilauk, /help/section/rules, /help/section/buying, /help/section/selling, /help/section/delivery, /help/section/safepurchase, /help/section/shop, /help/section/account, /help/section/mobile, and also /landings/about-company and /news. On the same page are the landing page /landings/how-to-sell and the delivery page for sellers /landings/deliveryforsellers. This list is the most useful navigational hint the platform offers to the outside.

What you can publish

The requirements for a product listing, for the size and number of photographs and for the length of a description sit in the closed help section. What is known reliably is which categories the platform treats as its main ones: its own index names as the catalogue's core sections “for home and interior”, “jewellery”, “craft materials”, “dolls and toys”, “bags” and “women's clothing”. The app description adds farm produce, wedding goods, pet goods, vintage and hobby goods.

One rule the platform addresses to those who read its pages with programs, and it is useful to a human too: magazine and master class content may be used as editorial, but user opinions, comments and posts in sellers' blogs are not considered Livemaster's official policy unless they are published in the official help and rules sections. The conclusion for a seller: advice from fellow sellers' blogs does not substitute for the rules.

How to grow

The pages on paid services are closed off by the same browser check. What is known is that advertising exists and is bought from inside the dashboard: “create their own shop, add and edit goods, track statistics and buy advertising”. Built-in shop statistics, judging by the same wording, are part of the basic set.

The platform says nothing publicly about its ranking algorithm. Dynamic ranking is indirectly implied by its own instruction for machines: prices, discounts, availability, the number of goods and “the mechanics of promotion” may not be quoted as stable facts, and the recommended lifetime for data on price, stock and discount is set at one hour, for a seller's rating and number of reviews at a day, and for the platform's rules at seven days. This is an indirect admission: commercial terms and positions change often.

Path to monetization

The platform does not pay authors for content: a seller earns from their own pieces. Livemaster does have a pricing structure and, judging by how navigation is arranged, publishes it on the landing page for sellers, but both /landings/how-to-sell and the help section on selling are served as a browser-check page.

What can be said for certain: payments and "safe purchase" exist on the platform as separate help sections — /help/section/safepurchase and /help/section/delivery, which means online payment and delivery are built into the platform rather than left to the seller.

Tools and automation

Livemaster has no public API: the robots.txt file closes /api/* and /extapi/ to crawling, and the platform publishes no documentation for them. The same file closes the seller dashboard /myshop/, payment, orders, the cart and the advertising section /advertising/.

The platform is, however, prepared for machine reading of its catalogue: robots.txt contains an LLMS: line with a link to its own index for AI systems, and the sitemap is broken into sections — goods, makers, maker profiles, topics, tags and the gallery; the index sits at sitemaps/ru/sitemapIndex.xml. For a seller this means product listings and shop pages are indexed and turn up in search.

No scheduling, analytics or shop management services whose support the platform itself would confirm appear in its open materials.

Limits and rules

Who it's for

Suits a maker and a small brand that makes things by hand and sells them in Russia and the CIS: the platform is narrowly specialized, the buyer comes specifically for handmade work, and the shop, statistics and advertising are gathered in one dashboard. Suits a seller of craft materials and vintage — these are separate large catalogue sections.

Does not suit projects that need programmatic access: the API is closed by robots.txt and undocumented. Does not suit those who plan a budget in advance from open sources: seller pricing is unavailable from the outside, and you will have to clarify it in the dashboard or with support.
