Analytics
Metrics, reports and comparison with competitors. In this section 17 entries.
How to choose a social media analytics tool. First decide what you need to measure: your own accounts, individual posts or available competitor data. Then check which metrics the platform provides. A tool depends on the data it can access; a metric name alone does not make the result comparable across social networks.
- You are comparing views and reach. The metrics guide collects definitions from platform documents. Check the event, reporting period and unit behind each comparison.
- You need trends from previous months. Check historical data depth and plan conditions before connecting an account: retaining metrics and accessing older data are separate conditions.
- Two dashboards disagree. Start with why the numbers differ, then open the source for the metric you need.
The profiles below help connect your requirement to a supplier: the platforms it describes, what its plan includes and which restrictions are documented. Missing information in a profile does not prove that a tool lacks a feature.
